A downloadable game for Android
This project was the result of spending a lot of time in work dabbling with various formats of virtual reality and realising the restrictions posed by the original Google Cardboard and the magnet switch. The switch was intended to trigger the devices NFC response which meant that the VR games would not be able to have any input on iOS devices and it seemed almost random whether it would work on most Android devices.
So I wanted to see how much game play and interactivity could be achieved just through ray casting and the users gaze.
I chose a puzzle game as it is one of the less jarring VR experiences for users who suffer from motion sickness etc. and it meant that the user did not need to worry about pinpoint accuracy with their gaze or quick and jerky reactions.
Overall the project turned out well providing a fun experience, 18 levels, a menu system which is always available whether the user is mid puzzle or at the start screen and a selection of visual themes.
